MOOD

This kinetic sculpture is composed of remnants of metal sheets connected to each other and suspended as a mobile-like structure located on a traffic circle in Hiriya Recycling Park. Its design allows the metal pieces to move independently while also functioning as a single unit, resembling a narrow floating roof and creating an effect where light and shadow play with each other. On the one hand, the mobile presents a striking display of material against the sky; on the other, it provides shade, diffusing the sunlight across the city square.  As with other projects by the studio, the guiding principle for this artistic creation was that the material and space dictate the design. The material was selected from a factory’s scrap heap. The sky as a backdrop to the scepter, and the wind providing an active force of energy.  The structure of the mobile was developed through research and technological experimentation, including the construction of various mechanical systems in the studio. The goal was to enable autonomous, wind-driven movement. The sculpture is a continuous performance—an ever-changing visual experience that slightly fractures the surrounding.
